Root Questions about rooting

So I've had my Fascinate since Christmas and I am really interested in rooting it, I just have a couple of questions before I decide to do so.

so overall you think it would be worth it? I'm not really trying to do anything crazy, I was just hoping to improve battery life, make the phone any faster (if possible), and give it a new "look" (like themes and what not)

Well you can certainly improve all of that over stock by rooting and flashing a custom kernel and/or rom and/or theme. The best thing to do is to go over the root guide at the top of this forum and familiarize yourself with what's involved.
