Root Questions about rooting

is this to install the apex gingerbread theme or the apex v1.4.1? Or are they one in the same?
to install apex 141 the rom

i didnt relize you were already trying to theme (which would mean you sucessfully had the rom on already)

crap....my bad....see you said you got apex on and are fighting with a theme

are you sure the theme you went to install was for your version of apex?
that can cause issues.
some themes cause long reboots, more then 5 minutes is way to long though.

as long as you can get back in to recovery its no big deal....just mount and clear stuff and reinstall apex again.

this time dont use any of your back up stuff, once apex is installed let the market reinstall your stuff.

lol yeah

I went through all your steps to install Apex and I am still stuck at the Motorola startup screen

edit pulled battery and I am back at the clockwork screen
your problems started after you installed a theme while running apex, right?

lets just get you running apex and up and going again, then we'll worry about the themes.

where are you at now?

back at the clockwork screen. Not sure what to do. I installed Apex (I guess re-installed) like you instructed a few steps back. Froze on startup, pulled battery, back at clockwork.

thats really strange....
try once more.
clear data/cache
mount system/mount data
install apex (not the theme) the rom (make sure)
reboot

report back, others will be reading this and chime in if we continue to have problems

Nope.

When I try to wipe the dalvik, I get this error -

E: Can't Mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
(file exists)

Gotta get my kid, someone else should jump in, be back. Try it without wiping anything except data cache, mount system data and install

still getting stuck at the start up screen?
dont freak out (i know its hard not to....) we'll get through it.
first time seems like the most likely to be rough.

Yep. I think I freaked... lol. Haven't been able to use my phone for over an hour now. So I went to backup/recovery and I am recovering to before I got the theme. Makes sense to do that... but I probably just made it worse.

lol....its ok....worst case we'll end up sbfing....
the only thing that can really cause you problems is if your battery goes dead, it wont charge unless its up and running....hence while i stated early stay calm and charge your battery, do it while you have time :D

i started a new thread to get some attention and linked it here, we should get some further thoughts....doubt you made anything worse, may fix it.

we'll get through it, let me know how the back up goes

once we get something up and running we need to charge your battery.

k back up and running. It's back to the original Apex 1.4.1 ROM. My battery is at 80%
lol....good deal....at 80% we are still good.
do a reboot, if it goes to clockwork just tell it to reboot.
let me know how it goes.
