Root Questions about S-OFF?

FoxyDrew

Ok so I'm S-OFF and this is what I'm wondering.

1. Do I need to Re-lock the bootloader to flash RUU?

2. If I flash the RUU will I still be S-OFF and have an unlocked bootloader?

3. When I boot into Bootloader It doesn't say JuopunutBear at the top anymore but it still says S-OFF, is this normal?

4.When S-OFF do I need to flash "SetMainVerLow.zip" before flashing the RUU?

Thanks in advanced I really do appreciate all the help, this HTC crap has been driving up a wall, as I'm not used to such crazy procedures for rooting/getting certain ROM's.

1.no
2.yes
3.yes...depends on current hboot
4.nope

There is a pg86img that you can flash through bootloader....simple as pie

I`m hboot 1.04

It's fine. You are s-off. Just run the Ruu. It will return you to stock hboot, recovery, rom, remove root etc etc.

You will never lose s-off unless you purposely turn it back on. You can run ruu without any worries!

IMO you would be better off either installing both OTA's after running the RUU or flashing the firmware only files from those updates than doing the original "fix everything" thread. That procedure was developed before either of the OTA's were released and uses some older Sprint GB firmware and you are better off with the versions designed for the Evo V now that they have been fixed.
