If tethering for me is faster than my school Wifi, will there be a problem if i use it excessively?

Is there any cons with tethering besides the heavy battery usage?

Battery usage shouldn't be a problem bc your phone will charge when connected to the computer via USB cable.

I have a question along these lines. Do Sprint knows if I'm tethering or not? If they notice increased data do they assume I'm tethering and cancel my contract?

5GB monthly data usage is the unofficial position. Stay under that and you should be good.

I got my Sprint bill this week and under data I had over 1 million but I don't remember if it is bytes or kb. Do any of you knows if it is 1GB (which I'm assuming it is)?
