Questions about the gTab.

Ok I have read a few posts and I understand to make it worth my time I need to root and rom it. I have no problem with this but I got a couple of more questions about the tablet before I go out and buy one.

If I root it does Android Market have to be downloaded or installed?

Once I have the Market installed can I just use like on a standard android device and be able to download any app that I want?

gTablet uses Froyo atm?

Will this get honeycomb?

Is there a ROM that's just plain Vanilla Android 2.2?

The Android Market can be installed but if you are going to put in a ROM then it's included in the ROM no need to download.

Yes, it works just like the Standard Android Market. Some apps are not optimized for a tablet yet but I would say most of the apps are compatible.

Gtab runs Froyo and if Viewsonic doesn't release Honeycomb, our Developers will port this Honeycomb when it's released. A lot of Tegra 2 tablets are coming out so the likelihood that we can port honeycomb to the gtablet is very high.

Vanilla 2.2? I don't think so but Vegan is pretty close to stock looking.

The z-pad ROM is as close to vanilla android as possible. I prefer the added functionality of VEGAn, but if you want a truly stock experience, go with z-pad.

What added functionality, exactly, is there?

I'm not a flash first, ask questions later kinda guy :D

Mainly screen animations and available themes at this point, but I also like that VEGAn gets much more frequent updates with new features and kernel configurations. If you are not the kind of person who likes to tinker and just want a clean android experience, z-pad may be for you.
