Questions about the Incredible

I have a preorder for a new Thunderbolt but my current Storm may not allow me to wait. I am thinking about getting the Incredible instead. If I buy it now is it running Froyo and are they going to update it to Gingerbread?
 
Yes, the Incredible is running froyo. There is no guarantee it will officially be updated to 2.3/2.4, though. There are gingerbread ROMs currently available if you are rooted
