I'm currently using unlocked samsung galaxy s (at&t captivate) with the carrier T-mobile
I have four questions about unlocked phone.
1. I still have 2.1.1 software and thought that i'm a little behind, planning to upgrade it to froyo.
and i was wondering if the software upgrade to 2.2 from 2.1 on the unlocked phone will lock the phone again?
(I heard incidents where iphone users try to upgrade their unlocked iphone, and get bricked, and had to wait for the unlock code thing to come out to be able to use their unlocked iphone again. will this never happen on captivate?) also, would i need the unlock code or sim network unlock pin again?..
2. will the factory reset lock my captivate (captivate)?
3. would the phone get un-rooted after i factory reset or software upgraded?
(would i need to re-install the super user permission thing again after the update or factory reset?)
3. Can I manipulate the data files to change the looks of notification bars, signal bars, battery icon & etc without the risk of getting the phone locked?
