Help questions about video fps

Lurker
I have noticed that when I put videos that I have recorded on my droid x on my computer in the details the video was shot at about 15fps. I have the camcorder set to 720p hd and I thought it was supposed to 24fps. Does anyone know how to fix this. Also is there a way to change the video out put file from .3gp to .mp4. I saw you can alter the etc/media_profiles.xml but when I change the file to .mp4 it still outputs to .3gp. Any help would be appreicated. Thanks

24fps is a 1080p setting, Droidx only supports 720p, with 2.2, it should be preloaded at 30 or 60 fps at 720 p

edit: i retract that statement. i just confirmed via VLC that the video is indeed 15.7fps. What gives....?

edit 2: i just checked another of my videos taken a few days ago and it actually shows 29.8fps. I don't know what to say about that. Another shows 18fps and another yet shows 29fps.
