Questions before I buy Indulge

Hey everyone,

I have a POS Huawei Ascend (the small one) and I considering getting the Indulge. I just have a few questions...

1. Can the phone rotate screens only to the left or can i go all 4 ways?

2. I know the battery sucks but i heard of some people getting the extended battery (3600 Mah) with the extended case... if you have it, how does that work for you?

3. Can you watch netflix on it as long as you have 4g or wifi?

4. What are the advantages/disadvantages of rooting your phone vs. stock?

5. Can you use swype?

*6. Most important for me, can you use it as a wifi hotspot? Example; connect to ps3 or computer?

1. It can turn all 4 ways depending on what your doing watching a video 4 ways but home screen will only let you go upright-left- right some apps will let you turn in upside down

2.yes stock sucks i have the extended battery (3600 Mah) it works well makes it work as it should but ofc 4g will run it down but it only cost $107 and you can get 2 for $161

3.i never used Netflix nor do i have an account so maybe someone else can answer that But i can use other TV/Movie Steam app on WiFi or 4g

4. Well as any other phone you have to right to do as you wish with the phone remove metro apps

5. yes you can use the swipe keyboard and other app keyboard

6. yes WiFi hot spot but idk is rot is a most and yes it works on laptop i have only had 3 or the network at once so idk how many you can have maybe 5
 
yeah netflix will stream on wifi or on 4g just fine and i don't know where you are getting your batteries from but they don't cost a hundred bucks lol i've seen them for as low as like 12 bucks on ebay lol so someone got jacked
 
I'd say! Unless your batteries are filled with diamond sparkles, I don't see why you'd have such a steep price for some replacement parts...
Brings up a good point though: Whenever you're buying something, especially online, make sure to SHOP AROUND! If you are on a website where you must get the item now now NOW, and are not given the opportunity to shop around for other similar deals, 98.9999% of the times, you are getting scammed.
 
Well today i went into a metro store and asked if the lg esteem rumors were true... and they said that it is confirmed that it will be released by the end of september.. and girl there said that it might cost about 400 or even less than that. That was all she new about the fone so far. Hope this helps... thats the answer that was corfirmed in tha whole store.. bt im still not sure...

Netflix works great. It's almost like watching a movie from your SD card. Wifi or 4g usage required.

Yes but you violate your TOS by doing it. But when you get it working you have to have it plugged into a power supply and don't be surprised if the battery dies in an hour with it plugged in! With the 4g radio, CDMA radio, wifi, and the screen turned on it uses more power than it can consume from an outlet. I don't have the extended battery yet for the Indulge but I'm sure you would get more time as there would be more battery to drain.

And just a reminder its against your TOS.
