Sorry all, but first time on this forum so really could do with some help with my desire

1) Is there a way of passwording text/ photos just in case i delete them, which give my track record is highly likely?

2) I did a firmware upgrade the other week, now all of my contacts in my list are ordered name/surname where i prefer them surname/name. Is there a way of doing a bulk edit of this or do i have to do each one individually?

3) Can I do a bulk export of contacts to SIM card?

4) Can I set my desire to use my home wireless network when in range rather than my mobile internet to save on my monthly allowance?

5) Any apps that i REALLY cant do without?

i'm still pretty new to this whole thing but i can answer #3 and partially answer #4

3) Can I do a bulk export of contacts to SIM card?

Yes, from the phonebook hit the menu button, tap on import/export, and select "export to SD card" and it will export all your contacts to a .vcf file

4) Can I set my desire to use my home wireless network when in range rather than my mobile internet to save on my monthly allowance?

Your phone can be set to connect to your home wifi and it will automatically connect while in range but leaving wifi on all the time can use a lot of battery.
there are apps that allow you to turn mobile data on/off which used in conjunction with being on your home network should help keep you from going over your monthly allowance

For 1) I'd recommend regular backups. You have to treat anything on your phone as transient, you could lose it, drop it, have it stolen, etc.

2) Ahh, I wondered what happened to that option. Thought I was going mad when I couldn't find it ;-)

5) If you do plenty of searching for contacts then Contact Search is useful (disclaimer, I'm the developer so I would say that).
