Hello all. This is my first Android phone. I did a number port from net10 which was completed yesterday. My main problem is 3g has not worked on phone. Why could this be? I can make calls, and sends text but can't get a webpage or the market to open. My 3g shows at the top and 4 bars. Do I have something setup wrong? I did call Virgin Mobile a few times got a different answer each time. The last guy said could take 24 hours for 3g data to be working? If anyone can help me out would be great. Thanks.

It's possible for there to be a short delay having your phone reprovisioned after porting a number...some users are reporting a 1-3 day turnaround to get everything fully up. But don't hesitate calling VM tech support back if you have issues.
 
So the phone work but not the data on it for example no market, web or e-mail? The phone work with the number I ported over but no data. 3 days from the text I got would be Tuesday. If you can help me out would be great. I purchased this for the data not just the phone.

I bought my phone without porting...and data was available immediately. So VM's customer service is your best bet. Some users on other forums are reporting similar porting delays.
 
I'm in the same boat, I'm porting over a number. So I haven't yet gotten even the voice portion activated.

However, my wife has had a Rumor Touch on Virgin Mobile for a while now. And when she first set it up, she was able to make calls immediately but could not get on the data network for almost a full day.

So go ahead and check with their customer service, but it may just take a little time and start working on it's own.
 
I got the data to work today by using the activate button on the phone just a while ago. Thanks all.

Glad you figured that out...I'd seen some people saying the same thing on porting as well. Thanks for posting your fix.
