Quick barcode generator for contacts, calendar entries etc

Just found the Mrs' Spica has an option to generate quick barcodes that can be scanned on another phone.

I assume this is a Samsung interface tweak. Is there anything that can do this for the Desire?

Yes. Barcode Scanner. Hit the menu button. It's a bit odd because the contacts are listed as number entries (at least in mine), which I assume means entry position... which is of no help.

You can also send notes via barcode with Note Everything.

I've been looking for this feature. Shame it is utterly useless on the Desire. Looked into it and the developer says its a bug with the Desire and to contact HTC. Shame
