Root Quick check before flashing..

I am about to flash Redux, just a quick check: I need to "wipe data / factory reset" and then "wipe cache partition"?
I've done a Ti and nandroid....
The first rom I flashed did whatever required wipes for me -- I didnt have to actually chose these options...

Argh!
The rom installation went fine... i think.
But now to get my apps and data back I need titanium - but the market crashes constantly (not to mention after a couple tries, it auto updated to the new market that i dont like).
Im not s-off so cant freeze the updater.
But also cant restore my data without titanium. A bit lost now -- can I connect to the PC and find the Ti apk from a back up and manually install it? or what now.....

well you dont want a rom with a broken market anyway.....
if i was you i would open the redux zip file and delete marketupdater.apk from system/app/
wipe and flash the new modified zip (you may need to toggle signature varification off in recovery to flash as you modified the zip)
this will stop the market from autoupdating.
