But, I mean, how do I do it? I have pulled apks from images before but they never install right.
Just pull them out of the system/app folder and then install them like I explained in post #4.

Man, that does nothing for me. Seriously? I might just sbf. This is annoying me. I am using RootExplorer. Should I be pulling them a different way?
That seems to be working. Now I just need to figure out what exactly I removed that had that dropdown in it.
Okay, so I went back to Froyo and really miss the contact shortcut that would drop a little menu down with the option to call them, sms, or email. I think it is in the QuickContactWidget.apk. Can anyone verify this for me?
If so, is there anywhere I can get the apk? It should work for froyo, right? I have a few zips of different GB that I could possibly extract the apk from, but when I try this I get a parsing error. Probably some technical reason that is a bit beyond me.
Anyway, I just want to have the contact shortcut with the dropdown menu again. Any help?![]()
Have you installed any contact apps? Are you rooted?I have a problem with my arc s contact list too but not sure if its caused by the problem about QuickContactWidget. After I open my contact list, i cannot press into the contact content which means i cannot view the persons details. and now i have to press hold the person and press 'edit number before call' to dial the number which is annoying. Any idea regards to my problem ??
You just need the .apk. You can not install it like a regular .apk, you need to move it into the system/app folder and then change the permissions to:
-------R W E
Owner X X
Group X
Others X
Then just restart your phone.

Also, here's the forum for the Arc S. It doesn't seem to be very active, so you may not get much response there, but it might be helpful to ask some others who have the same phone.
