Quick nooby question

share the love peeps ;)
Im rooted and on a custom rom but my /system seems to be read only. Im sure ive had this problem before but whats the easiest way to make it read/write? Thanks peeps :beer:

Ifyou're on a custom ROM, you should have a Terminal app on the phone. Run that, get root by typing 'su' (no quotes) and enter. Enter your password when prompted, then when you get the root prompt type 'chmod 755 /system' This should give read/write/execute privileges to the /system directory plus read and execute privileges to other groups (the first 5) and the rest of the world (the second 5). for a full explanation of Linux permissions, see: Learning the shell - Lesson 7: Permissions

Imma do that right now lol

My GS4 isn't rotted but, download ES file explorer. In ES settings scroll down to the bottom till you see root options. Check all the root options including the one saying "Make System writable".

Thanks for all the replies peeps. I am rooted and use superSU but maybe my problem is i let ES update itself instead of using the old version from my backup. Ill have a look in settings.
Beer for everyone :beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:
