Quick Photo Comparison

I've been following along with JR Raphael's initial review after 48 hours with the new Moto G, and I must say that I'm quite impressed (as is he!). This sounds like a killer budget phone - but not just a great budget phone, the new G could definitely hold its own against phones costing twice as much.

Motorola has always kind of struggled with cameras, but it sounds like those days may be over. Check out these two photos that JR took comparing the new Moto G with the also-new ZTE Axon:

Moto G (2015) - $180

ZTE Axon - $450

That's a HUGE difference - both in price and quality.

In the words of JR, "Motorola just seriously messed things up for other low-cost phone manufacturers."

Yes the camera is pretty good however i would suggest using the google camera app or any third part app as I find the stock app pretty bad again this may be my personal opinion

Not to nitpick, but looking at the positioning of the shadows, especially closer to the house, the photos were taken several hours apart. That makes it very difficult to compare. I would have rather have seen mics taken seconds apart in comparable lighting.

Quite right. I don't think he initially took these pictures with the intention of making a comparison; it's just one of the photos he takes with most of the phones he tests. I would definitely like to see a more accurate side-by-side comparison.
