Root quick question about an OTA update notice

Hey Everyone,

I am rooted with the 651.6 Stock rom and Nets 4.0.3 kernal. I keep getting a notice of an update over the air (System upgrade 3.29.651.5(22.92mb)FOTA), and keep declining it. what would happen if I accept and would I lose root?

It will most likely fail and then it will stop notifying you.
If it goes through just root again.

I would say to not accept ota updates, you may fall victim of the half root, it happens to few people but it does happen

Smartest thing will be to decline if you don't wanna b a victim like Wake said,if you are one of them people that want to keep their phones up to date with the latest software releases just flash a ROM based on that OTA.

You can flash this without wiping data, only wipe caches

rules for the half root/bricked phone:

you might be bricked. In order to recover, one of the three components must be OK:

1) S-OFF bootloader
2) working recovery image
3) working OS

From your OP, 2 and 3 are shot. You can't boot normally into the OS, and you don't seem to have a valid recovery.

Now you say your bootloader does not have NAND unlocked. Therefore, you can't flash a custom recovery. Therefore you can't flash a working OS ROM.

I don't know. This is the 3 strikes rule I learned about when I researched rooting on day 1. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me, but I believe you are bricked

Thanks everyone I will avoid this update, but one funny thing is that my phone says it has a newer Rom 651.6
