Hi,

I am glad I found this forum because I think I will be switching to the Droid O.S soon!

I've been a BB user for almost 7 years now and have been a fan of the Galaxies for awhile now. I might pick up a Samsung Galaxy S2 SkyRocket Unlocked, to clear things up I do live in Canada and my phone provider is Rogers.

I have seen that the SkyRocket was used in the US for AT&T, from basic knowledge I do know if you unlock a phone that uses a SIM card and has the respectable networks available for the phone provider that you are with, the phone should work fine.

I just want a clear answer that if I do buy a SkyRocket that is Unlocked, if I do take my SIM card from my BB9780 and insert it in would it work?

They have Canadian Skyrocket its called i727r its identical phone.

Skyrocket is great phone i mean in terms of specs.. But i just couldn't take crap anymore. It works fine on gingerbread but with ics this phone is nothing else but total disaster. One good thing about ics on Skyrocket is battery life other than that its total mess.

I would suggest you to get galaxy nexus but for $200 it makes it pretty good deal.. Consider the fact that i sold my Skyrocket for 300
 
I was doing some research and the Skyrocket(US) vs the SII LTE(Canada), they seemed very similar.

Fortunately I was able to find a Samsung Galaxy SII LTE for a good price and going to pick it up later tonight.

Now I just need to familiarize myself with Samsung terms and different type of O.S'.

Actualy you may wanna clear that info with your network provider. The SIM card is differently programed for BB`s and for Android/iPhone. Yes, you can swap the card from Android to BB for internet and email access but you won`t have your BBM avaiable since Android doesn`t have BBM.
