When I was having issues receiving the notification to download I switched to the stock rom and did an update check. I got it and downloaded the update but it did not
install correctly. I believe you have to be s-on stock with the stock recovery as well for the update to install. If not, s-off and flash the radio file included in one of the threads regarding the update. That is the route I had to take. The only real change I have seen since the update is no more sms error.

You don't need the update. If you're a S-OFF you can change the radio. That dudes the problems with signal fluctuations

The rom will, custom recovery won't.

If s-off, just flash the Sprint 2.89 firmware. It's the same stuff and has been out for months.
