Root quick question

firstly let me say hi, ive come over from the optimus elite and befor that the optimus v. not entirely new to the rooting or flashing process, I am however confused by all this s-on and s-off stuff. im currently s-on running harmonia rom and twrp 2.4. heres my question, if I switch over to the 4ext recovery will I be able to flash the s-off roms or is it pretty much inevitable that I achieve s-off?

Getting S-OFF can help you fix problems that may arise in the future. Have you taken the latest OTA upgrade? If not, don't do it yet, as you'll want to obtain S-OFF first.

Doing S-Off is the best thing you can do, and not all that risky. It's worth it for sure.

I highly recommend getting S-off, as it will allows you to do advance things to fix your phone should something goes wrong. Being S-on, you're limited with what you can do and if things go wrong, you might not have the ability to fix it!!!. It's a simple process if you follow the instructions in the root, s-off, for newbies guide.

ok to the best of my knowledge I haven't the ota update, haven't evenbeen notified of it yet lol. alright I guess ill just get s-off then, sounds like its worth it

I recommend watching this video before you attempt:

You need to install the drivers and be on a stock rom, unrooted.

Make sure you have a wire that would fit into the little outer hole of your phone before you do turn on controlbear.
