Root Quick question.

My wife was given an LG Esteem from a friend to replace her phone that broke.

It is already rooted and has CWM.

It is using the stock rom but it is SLLLLOOOOOWWWWW.

I was poking around here to see if there might be a lightweight rom to speed it up a bit and ran into all this zvc, zvd, zve stuff which I am not familiar with.

Can someone point me in the direction of a lightweight rom that will work with this phone?

kernel version : 2.6.35.7~LD-ZVD_Speed_Kernel lg-electronics@ldrifta-pc #1

Thanks a lot.

i think your best bet is to update to zve,not many roms for it,but the whole updating should get the phone going smoother and faster, but you still ndmetro corporate store to update there update plus the lg.com has a update, you will be fine atleast you should just doing the lg update til you can go to metro,pm me if you nd any help or post it,good luck

Question. I never bothered to go to metro. Updated through LG, re rooted, Rommed, and never looked back...

You specify going to metro even if you're already updated... Is there something to be gained?

Thank you

i cant tell you if theres a diff or not but i was informed i needed to let metro do a update to,even though i did the lg update,so its up to you,but yes i did both, jus wanted to be on the safe side

I just did the update myself lol, too lazy to head to metro  but just to be safe go and let them do it properly especially if your not too familiar with the whole root and flash process.

Thanks for the help.

I used the LGTools thing to upgrade her phone to ZVE.

It is running much faster now, even with the stock rom.

Thanks again.
