Quick switch multitasking apps

Hey guys, so I've always used an app called SwipePad and once I got my Nexus 4 that was one of the first apps I downloaded. I've recently seen tons of other reviews for other kinds of multitasking apps like swapps, unity launcher, and sidebar. I'm just curious, what ones do you guys use and why?

Why dont you just press the multi window button thats built into android?

Yes, but i like to have shortcuts to things, such as direct messaging to people or always have a quick way to an app that I may not have opened yet. Has anyone tried, pie controls, sidebar, unity launcher or swapps? I'd like to hear feedback and your opinions. Thanks
