Help quiet ring on pick up

the option quiet on pick up works only if my cell phone found on flat surface. If my phone isn't found on flat the option is not working. is it problem? Thanks

Mine does the same. I think this is deliberate and not a problem.

I think the main issue with it is that if it relied on accelerometer values only when a call comes through, you could just be walking down the street and the movement of the phone in your pocket would be interpreted as you picking it up in your hand. If it isn't flat and still, the quiet ring won't work but this is a design decision by the programmers.

That's as I understand it anyway.

i must to say if it is decision of the programmers, it is ridiculous.
if my cell phone found on my sofa, the option quiet ring on pickup does not works because of the slope.
