Interesting theory. But I haven't seen this on my phone. Maybe i just haven't paid close attention enough? I'll keep an eye out for that.Yes and No. From what I have determined the updated radios were designed to maximize battery life. It does this by switching the phone to 1x if you aren't actively using a 3G/4G connection.
Thanks for putting a percentage on the improvement!Having said that, the battery life is improved with 2.2.2, but not by a huge amount. I had used 4 % in about 2.5 hours. This is after deep charging the battery and re-setting the battery states with clockwork. So it's about 6% better than I was getting before.

However, I think it probably ends up being even better than that, because my phone lasted the WHOLE day with 2.2.2 with the stock battery.
With just Basix, that used to be 7 to 8 hours, and that was a good thing (4 to 5 on stock 2.2.1)...
Anecdotally, Basix seems to still last longer now (almost a whole day), so you might be onto something about the radios...
Unfortunately, I don't have the old radio files... I never had them, so even my backups are the newer modems.
If someone has the old version of the modems, (pre EG06 and EF23, please PM me, and i'll walk you through the process of extracting them for sharing... Being rooted would help, but is not necessary.)
thank you tiede for this!! i installed the new tar and put basix on it and i am getting more battery . thanxs![]()
what are you talking about, i thought if you install basix on top of this 2.2.2 thing, it would just go back to 2.2.1.... right???
make sure you are flashing using the PDA button.
The ONLY file you should be flashing is the .tar.md5 provided.
No need for a pit file, no need to check anything but Auto-Reboot
It should work.
If not, try to install just the modems using this file:

Successfully updated my radios to EG06 and EF23. Hopefully it will save some battery!
Weirdest thing about that - the wireless mac address on the phone changed after I updated the radios!
