Root Radio Interference Resource Shortage Fix

No idea why this started.

I'm rooted (have been for a while) and have wiped everything and re-flashed roms and still getting the error.

Any ideas or fixes for this?
 
Have you tried to update your prl at all? Depending on what rom you have, you can do that. (I think on an AOSP rom, that cannot be done--you need a sense rom to do so)
Also, if you have a sense rom, you can manually change PRL's. :)
 
I have just flashed to Infected Virus ROM and my PRL is 1.77_003 It seems to be working for the time being. I dunno what ROM I was running before because I've flashed like 3 today and had been happy with the one I was running when this started Energy maybe.

I was looking into make your EVO 4g and 3D to fix the problem but keep running into an error with E: being unable to locate update or something when I try a new HBoot but I may be up to date enough to change all that around.

I got over my flashaholics and stuck with the same ROM - Kernel for a year or so and now I just want to get this thing completely cleaned off (SD Card and all) but not completely sure how...

I'm getting off topic. Whats the best PRL or the one with the best results for this problem anyway?
 
Well, the best PRL is really dependent on where you are and it will vary from device to device, but basically where you are.

You do have the Evo 4g from Sprint correct? Just making sure:)

I'm in DC now as far as location goes

I'm on sense 3.5

With virus infected rom running

Since I flashed infected Rom its not giving the error but I think infected had MMS issues in the past.


I'm considering going to an aosp maybe black bean or some form of JB but I want this fixed before I tweak too much.

If I wipe everything the SD card and all, what steps should I take.

I think I'm on Amon RA 2.3 (if that sounds right)

Unfortunately my nandroid back up is corrupt so I need to tread lightly,

I'm going to back up from where I am before doing too much but just some ideas on where to go and completely reset this. I've never done that but it's been completely stable for a while until last night

Sorry, steps to take to do what?

But don't wipe the SD card when flashing a rom.

Amon RA is an excellent recovery, not to mention smelkus...but that's a different story:)

And yes, make a nandroid now as you have a functioning device and perhaps save it on your computer too.
 
1. Is my PRL and HBoot and radio the right set up?

2. What I'd like to do is start fresh, my sd card and all has all kinds of folders and other stuff that I don't know what's what anymore so I'd like to wipe everything and possibly try aosp jelly bean rooms but since I just reset everything and I got no apps or anything I want to go ahead and wipe everything. Can I do a factory reset from s-off with my current set up? Or what would I do to accomplish this and not brick my phone.

3. Any recommendations for a jelly bean ROM? Black Bean seems to get good reviews and be stable? Will those come with now radios, PRLs, etc... (It's been a while since I've flashed and played with my phone so I'm a bit out of the loop)

4. Even though my radio problem isn't showing up anymore would this be an Anamoly or should I take steps with my set up to make sure the problem is gone?

yep everything seems to be in order there. i believe your prl is the most current one and your hboot(rooted with revolutionary) is fine. so you have no worries there.

a factory reset only wipes data. it does nothing else to the phone so doing one is fine, but you can do that in recovery. i would format the sd card via the phone. it should be under settings/stotage/erase sd card(or something like that)

i have not tried any JB roms on the og evo, i heard black bean is not bad.

Answer to question 1 is yes, your h-boot is fine...that hboot is the version when rooted via revolutionary. And your radio is fine. There was a recent radio update in February. See this about that:

Yes, you can flash a radio, but sometimes it's better, the same, or worse for some folks.

As far as roms and starting clean, every time you flash a rom, you start with a clean slate. Technically you can wipe the card and the Evo will still run fine. You can even run the Evo without the sd card.

Yes you can factory reset being s-off. You will only wipe your data/contacts/apps etc...it will not affect your root status.

Roms do not have radios or prl's with them. Your current radio and prl stay the same thru all rom flashes.

I am not familiar with any other rom except the Mikg3.11 and Decks Reloaded. Those are the only 2 roms I ran on the Evo :)
