Radio without headphones

I know that the Desire needs a pair of headphones to use as an FM antenna but was wondering if it could be made to play the radio sound out of the speaker when the headphones are plugged in.

My old LG used to have this feature and it was quite useful when in hotel rooms getting ready in the morning.

Yes. There is the option to turn the external speaker on under settings when you're in the radio app. Tinny, but better than nowt!

If you get a Radio App you dont need the headphones for antenna as the radio actually streams form the internet and not via radio signal

I might try that. Do you stream over wifi or mobile data? My wifi at home is pathetically slow.

Would like to listen to Radio 5 Live and TalkSport though.
