how did you uninstall your nexus boot animation? I found this to be a bit of a swine, as all other installs were ignored. I had to manually delete /system/media/bootanimation.zip and /data/local/bootanimation.zip in the end.

Exactly that way. I remembered the hassle and your posting and went back and followed that.

Tried installing from CWM; got a freeze on boot. And of course now CWM doesn't work to restore back-up, so it's off to Odin to flash a new kernel. It seems to be the typical response whenever I install something these days. Waiting for a new CheckROM to come out so I can bother to do a full-wipe and start fresh!

I have been using CheckROM with Siyah kernel. I'll try Ragemod kernel tonight and report back here.

I like this kernel. Perhaps a little slower to wake than nimphetamine(siyah was last week) but a noticeable battery savings which is much more important.
