Root Raise Maximum Headset Volume?

Everwhere I search I seem to find apps that let you increase the volume, but I'm wondering if there is a more manual way to do it?

Basically here's the issue:

On the stock Triumph ROM, the volume in the headset would work perfectly. It was nice and loud, I could listen to music and podcasts at 50-75% and everything was wonderful.

But then, as many people have mentioned, if a notification sound played while listening to the headphones, suddenly the volume was cut waaaay down when the music started back up. Even at 100% it was too quite for my tastes.

So now I'm on one of the latest CM7 releases (amazing work Tickerguy!) and the notification glitch seems to have stopped... but now the volume is constantly at the lower setting. It might be slightly louder than the stock "low" volume, but not much.

This makes me believe that there is an internal volume level that is set low, since the headphone can obviously output at a higher volume, but won't even at max media volume.

What I'm looking for is to use a program like Root Explorer, go in to the system files, and change settings to get the volume to go beyond what the phone considers max. I'm not looking for a program that does this, as different people have had varying results with them on different phones.

Is this possible?

Thanks!

go to the dsp manager app and theres settings for when notifications go off and other settings but i dont believe theres a fix for your exact problem but i heard making a call then playing the music will reset the volume

I have the exact same problem. And unplugging the head set wait a couple sec. And plug ack in and resume play works.. its annoying but less trouble than making a phone call.. SOMEONE FIX PLZ!
