Took the dog out for a bike ride last night and wanted to listen to a podcast while riding. I usually keep the phone in my pants' pocket while riding but put it in my fleece pocket instead. As I crossed the street I noticed I ran over something (it was dark) but blew it off. 40 minutes into the ride I realized I wasn't listening to anything and my worst fears came to mind.
Quickly I had to think of where I felt like I ran over what seemed to be a wood block at the time and hurried back to the spot under the street lamp where I recalled running over it. There she was. Front glass was broken but the AMOLED screen still turned on. I did some research and the replacement seemed like an easy task to do. I found the part on ebay for cheap (between $32-$45) and was glad she was still ticking however...
This morning I turned her on and the screen was purple and slowly deteriorating. Now the parts will cost me around eighty to ninety dollars just for the LCD screen and I'm sure it's not AMOLED plus $35 for the glass.
So should I still pay $5/ month and have to pay $50 for a new phone through insurance? I dunno but I learned to not put the phone in loose pockets.
