Hey,

Have you ever backuped your stock HTC ROM in CWM5 Recovery? If so, I think I would try to restore de ROM and see if it works

no i never backed the rom up, should have but it wasnt new when i got it anyway, should i factory restore and delete dalvik cache etc, or is there a way to install a nicer sense rom on it without the goldcard???

Whenever you flash a new ROM, you must do a factory reset, format the cache partition and clear dalvik cache. If you didn't before, that's probably the source of your crashes. You can try that now to see if it solves the problem. The ROM rebuilds all that the first time it boots, so it will take a little longer. If that doesn't work and you're running CWM Recovery, you can also try fixing permissions to see if that solves the instability problems.

the phone still has the factory rom on it, but its running HORRIBLE. i have to charge it 3 times a day, internet crashes every 10 minutes or so, and random apps just crash, something bad is going on inside my lil phone.

i have thought about flashing a rom on it but most say i need the goldcard i s-offed it with which i do not have anymore.

If all you did was a factory reset and delete cache (including delvik) the gremlins would probably leave your phone. You'd want to do that through bootloader (turn phone off, pull and replace battery, hold down volume and press power). And don't forget to backup your phone's data as it will be erased. Anything on the SD card will be safe. Apps will have to be reinstalled.

If you decide to root and go with a custom ROM, creating a goldcard is easy, so its not big deal that you lost yours. There are two guides here on androidforums that involve the creation of a goldcard:

[GUIDE]How to update HTC Wildfire S/Marvel/A510e/GSM to Software Version 2.3.5. About 1/2 way through procedure 2 is a little guide on creating a goldcard.

Tutorials, Roms, Team MarvelUSc -- EVERYTHING YOU NEED starting at step 4.

ok, i will probably go custom as i dont want to loose my root after everything i did to get it, and the extra phone storage would def. be a plus, i really never found a virgin mobile rom page like the optimus has, a i overlooking something??
