Help Random Data Drop

ZRock

Newbie
So, I have an interesting situation and I don't believe anyone has experienced this exact issue...

My fiance dropped her T-bolt and broke the LCD >.>.
So I went ahead and bought a whole display assembly, put it in, everything was fine. The phone was not used in the interim between the drop and me putting in the new LCD. After this, the first boot of her phone put it in some sort of "safe mode." I haven't seen anything like this before, so I just restarted the phone, and it booted fine. After a day or so of use, she started noticing random, complete data loss. One moment she'll be browsing the internet, the next, no connection at all. I've tried setting it to 3g only, I rooted her and updated her radio, and we are still having the problem. Does anyone have any ideas for how to fix it?

I have a t-bolt of my own so I can use mine as a control to test if it's her phone & not the network.

Have you tried a different back cover. I have seen some people change the cover and data drops were eliminated. just a suggestion..

This is an ongoing situation with thunderbolts and it will never be resolved because every bolt isnt created equally.

Ive had this issue since ive owned the phone, it doesnt happen all the time but it does happen, the previous poster has a good idea about checking the back cover or even just replacing that just in case.

The things i do to temporarily fix it is either go into airplane mode for a moment and switch back. You can also reboot the phone but this isnt always the best way since usually if you are counting on a data connection you are obviously using the phone at the time for something.

Recently ive installed a app called "data enabler widget", very useful and quick, just add the widget to one of your home screens and use it when data is lost, just turn it off for a few seconds then right back on and your data should reconnect.
I hope this helps in your circumstance however it could just be something else busted inside since the phone was dropped but i would try the widget and see if it works for her.

good luck!!
