Random lock ups

My Archos 7o 8gb locks up very often. Sometimes when I push the power button the screen fades up white then stays for about one sec then fades out again. To fix it I often have to reboot 2 or more times. When it does come back it has to rescan all my media files again and often locks up in the process. Other times it will just lock up no matter how simple the task is. Any ideas on how to fix this? Is this just what I should expect from this tablet?

have you updated the firmware to the latest version?

If so and you are still having problems, try a factory reset from the settings menu.
Back up first using mybackup pro or similar though.

My archos 101 locks up very occasionally but not often.

Haven't run into that on mine yet. But i'm using a 101, not a 70, so i'm not much help. Sorry.

I have encountered the same problem. It is firmware related, and can be resolved by switching your tablet to airplane mode.

I have been thinking of switching to the sde firmware. I have the most recent normal firmware installed now.
