That's a logical solution to some of the reboots, but not when the phone temp is low.

I've noticed GoSMS is causing reboots lately, which is a bit annoying.

running BO3

I get a reboot every single time the is an update in google play, i get the audio notification ...soon as i power the screen on it reboots. doesnt matter the speed 1.2 to 1.8ghz or i/o scheduler. i dont think this is a heat issue.

Is there a non undervolted blitz kernal?

According to the kernel change logs, 1.0 only.

ok i am on BO3 with flashed popcorn V2. 192hmz-1.8ghz using noop/ondemand via voltage control lite. no reboots in 3 days...2 google play updates no issues.

Oh ya i have never wiped the phone yet inbetween BO, Eclipse, stock rom flashing. just delvk and batt stats. no frozen apps.

**also had my gps on for the last 24 hrs as well

** just backed up LG MLT and deleted it.

been monitoring logcat now for a bit. haven't seen any sql errors or errors of anykind since mlt has been removed/rebooted

:D

... it's like I keep saying, it's all that garbage LG put into Android for their version of the OS. I have no doubt the LGMLT and other useless apps are conflicting with other apps, like ADW, Play and GoSMS, causing exception errors and reboots. In all of my logcats, those apps are the ones working right before another app throws an exception.

ok with MLT removed, i could not get into cwm to reflash the blitz kernal at all in any form or fashion. restored MLT, cwm worked again. damn you LG MLT!

plan is to remove MLT after the blitz kernal install...

Oh yea, don't REMOVE anything LG-related... that's a bad idea. FREEZE the app, so it won't run. The LG OS is so interwoven with bullshit apps like that, removing one can cause another to stop working, which you saw. Could have been coincidence, but still better to freeze than to remove. BTW, I froze it and have no issues and it's never running.

This won't be an issue when we get an AOSP or CM version... anything non-stock based will alleviate that issue of LG apps.

must have been coincidence. on blitz now. removed not froze MLT again and got in to recovery 3 times in a row....man i tried the buttons, from the power button, in terminal, and even abd with no luck while on the popcorn.

ill keep an eye on everything for a few days with no MLT files

Just a 2 cents, I think a lot of people are straight up willing to blame the custom ROMs/kernels without looking at other posts or defend them like hell without looking at other posts. Based on what we have, nothing makes sense for what's causing it. I for example, have installed the exact same software on BO3 and on stock, I don't use titanium anything, start fresh on each never restoring settings. In my case, stock never reboots, BO does. I've tried flashing the popcorn kernel on BO, still reboots. I've tried flashing popcorn on stock, still doesn't reboot?? However, looking at other people's posts, some had reboots on stock, and don't have them with BO. Also some are in the same boat as me. If everyone's telling the truth which I see no reason not to, then there really seems to be no available deduction as far as what's happening except that the hardware has different properties. I consider it the same as how 2 identical PC processors can be overclocked, but one can go further than the other, with identical cooling, where the other will lock up. I don't think anyone's trying to deliberately smash Mt. and BO, after all it was the first pioneered ROM if I'm not mistaken, that's quite an accomplishment. In fact I wish I still had BO sometimes, ran so much better than stock. But I was annoyed with reboots, and stock works for me. So being all this info true, how can we even deduce the cause? Anyone have a better deduction idea? It seems everything is randomized. Hell, I'm willing to trade phones with someone in which BO3 works great! Although I doubt someone would WANT stock...

Exactly. If I didn't have wild-ass reboots on stock, I'd easily blame the kernel and/or roms.

Had no one had reboots on stock, we could easily say it's the kernel/roms, but since several had the same issue on stock I did, it's simply not possible that the kernel alone is to blame.

Maybe ICS will offer us better ROMing options and less reboots. Maybe.

Maybe, but the issue will remain that stock from LG is laden with unnecessary apps. I hope the new kernel will allow us to flash roms, because we presently can't get the hardware to communicate with the software.

coincidence again?

ya um somehow my contact list went corrupt, onle like 10 out of 200+ contacts were intact other all my email contacts were just fine. restored MLT. wouldnt restore from google or verizon. even my backup didnt work form titanium. had to use cwm advance data restore from BO2...worked. flashed BO3. sql log errors, froze MLT, no more errors..... then later flashed BP1.

never rebooted on me....i only rebooted it 30 times trying all sorts to get my contacts back.

Just randomly throwing this in... only time I noticed random reboots is when using Google Maps. Strange maybe, but I can be browsing around the maps and suddenly it freezes and my phone starts rebooting...
Google Maps or the phone?

I've had that happen too; its the secondary reason I've encountered reboots.

It seems we get reboots because the phone is overheated or because the os is overloaded from an app (either through data needed or java errors). As crazy as that sounds with a dual core cpu like ours, there are apps that bog it down and when on LTE, the data to cache a map heats the unit up. I think maps hits both issues on the phone... At least it appears to with me.

I had a few reboots on stock with the first phone. Later on the GPS started failing to lock.

I had VZW do an exchange, and so far, no stock reboots, and a functioning GPS.

ditto to that

i think i have a special build of this phone, i cant get my phone to go 4-6 hours with out a random reboot.. and sometimes, less....

of coarse i did softbrick the device once, playing with the dpi.. but i manage to flash stock back without wiping userdata, and it worked as expected...

but, since day 1, i have had random reboots, i think not even 2 hours after having the phone brand new from the store out of the box it reboot...

this is very upsetting... not even 20 minutes ago it did it, i was opening mms cause i got a text.. REBOOT! i really enjoy it when im about to make a call, or if someone is trying to call me... specially if its an important call from my boss... lol

I have CM11 installed on my LG Spectrum. When I first had the rom on it I never had any random reboots. Up until about a month ago it would randomly start rebooting whenever I left an app open when I turned the screen off. If I turn the screen off without an app open then it wont do it. I factory reset the phone (still with CM11 installed) and the random reboots went away but now they are back. I've tried to troubleshoot the issue but I can't pinpoint exactly what is causing the reboots and what I can do to fix them. It's quite annoying, I must say.
