Help Random Spam on Home Screen and Messaging

Korie

Lurker
I am a new android and Samsung Galaxy S4 user. I just started getting ads at random times in random places, such as on my home screen and when I open my text messaging. I have deleted the apps I downloaded most recently, including a background app. However, it did not get rid of the background. I also got AirPush detector, Ad Network Detector, and Addons Detector - recommended from other forum question replies. They all didn't return anything obvious. Plus I'm rather incapable of deciphering the information into usable clues I feel. I'm not terribly tech savvy. So, please, use as much layman terminology assuming I know very little. I read some comments about aLogcat that was rather difficult for me to follow. But, since the spam doesn't seem to be in my notifications, I don't think it applies to me.

Additionally, and perhaps by coincidence, my phone has been giving me new tutorial information, such as how to use the lock screen by swiping the top portion to view apps. It also gave me the "always" and "just once" prompt with the TouchWiz options. I didn't recall it from my original phone set up and was very suspicious until I googled it. I now wonder if my phone ran an update without me being aware and implemented those prompts based on changes.

Summary...I have these random pop up ads I want to get rid of :)

Thanks. That does seem to be what I'm left with. However, since there seems to he a delay between downloading whatever app it's coming from and the start of the spamming, are there any suggestions about how to safeguard your phone from getting it again?

Bingo! (or there's a very high chance of it).
How you think the showbox devs make their money? ;)
Since these posts seem to be fairly recent regarding popups and notifications, i wonder if anyone can help/ advise me about a similar issue but a different phone.
The phone is a Lenovo K3 Note, dual sim and Android 5. Though i bought it in the UK i do realise it came from China and that's possibly why i'm getting problems. I'm constantly getting a full screen airpush notification, which i'll post a screenshot of, and it happens even when i'm not using data. I've tried pressing the notification with my finger until it reveals what app it's related to. No joy! I've run airpush detector and ad detector. No joy! I've removed over 90% of my apps. No joy!
It is so irritating i'm already considering a linux phone, which is a pity because this one's about two months old. I've even been emailing Airpush themselves but they don't seem to know where it is or how to stop it. Today i had an email from them advising i remove 'settings' from my phone because that's the app (in their opinion) it's attached to. Isn't settings like a vey important part of my phone?
Anyway, i'd appreciate some help if poss. Please look at picture. Ta. sutgesdad.

By the way, it says the same thing whether or not any app is open, not just the ebay one. Even if i'm texting or trying to answer the phone! What a bugbear!!!
