Was playing an NES game and then my cat was scratching on the chair, so I slapped the leg rest so she would stop and my game froze because my NES was sitting on it.

Try taping paper towels or even newspaper around the bottom half of ur the furniture . This is is what We did In our other house . I dont know why it works . I assume maybe when cat walks by it the paper toweling moves and cat dont like it . I know it sounds dumb , but it worked. Then after awhile was able to take the paper towels off furniture and cat never touched furniture again.
