I deactivated my Facebook. I think I mentioned it like 100 times already. Nothing on there.

All I use now is AF, G+, and twitter.

My sister wants me to join SnapChat.
I don't think I have a use for it. Lol

I deleted my MySpace account long, long ago... had more people asking to friend me after I did so than before I quit it. Just didn't like it.

'MyFace' was the social group used on the British Television show The IT Crowd, which I use to refer to Facebook.

It's best to be generally vague about your IRL location in public forums.

I have met a couple internet friends IRL, and know where a few more live in terms of the city and whatnot, and I have posted in public when I was going to be in a certain area for a limited time (vacation, road trip, etc.) in the off-chance that one of my friends might be available for a face-face, but I tend to leave the details of my present locale pretty vague.

A few of my friends here may know about how close I live to them, but you have to talk to me privately (and I have to be comfortable giving you the specific knowledge) to get anything remotely close to my actual physical whereabouts.

Chicago's a big city! But yes, be vague when telling us about where we live.

Never met an online friend before. My onine friend from Australia has actually met a bunch of his friends on Xbox live. He lived in Taz and his friend lived in Sydney. Their like bffs. Lol

Australia is kinda far away.

Thanks. I've been a forum member someplace or another for at least 13 years. I'm aware. Thanks though.

Great conversation about maintaining enough vagueness in a public forum. For some, complete anonymity is a must, for others, far more can be revealed while still providing enough obfuscation to prevent unwanted identification. How random.;)

It certainly is.

Loved Sydney-- spent a lot of time in the museums there. There are (used to be, anyway) a lot of used book stores in Perth... I must have carted away a quarter-ton of used paperbacks by the time I left there.
