So on FB I filled out the high school I went to only I put mr birth year at like 1918 or some stupid random number..so I'm like almost 100 yo on there
Anywho the great part is.. There are maybe 6 or seven people from that graduating year still around!! Blaha
I just might go to the reunion!!!

Staring at an Excel file, trying to interpret an engineer's reasoning... Why can't people explain their reasoning behind their formulae?

Everyone is an "engineer" or "technician" these days. Before getting the real title they should work in the field first. 10 years of fabrication and welding I see it all the time. Poor, non-standard drawings and design.

It's the same in just about every field. Just because someone has a degree, doesn't mean they know what they are doing.

Easy solution: the computer is hooped. Get an Android tablet and be done with it.

I was a in IT for 8 years before getting into metal fabrication. That was 10 years ago. I don't get bugged now.

When computers start acting weird they usually are starved for attention. Is there a new computer in the house? Sometimes just letting them know that just because things are differnt now, doesn't mean that I forgot about you.

I wanted to be a firefighter when I was a kid.

... until I realized that I would have to actually go into a burning building to fight the fire.

One thing about being in the Navy, you end up doing a lot of those jobs-- fighting fires, policing, learning first-aid, shooting guns, (lots of) janitorial work, secretarial work... all that while still doing something for a living.
