I have to give my Darling Bride a public kudos here... she's been growing out her platinum silver hair for FOUR YEARS, waiting for it to be long enough to donate to Wigs for Kids: a nonprofit that provides human hair wigs to children undergoing chemotherapy.

After our performance at an assisted living facility (hillbilly theme), she had her hair measured... it finally met the 14" length requirement, with enough left over for a shoulder length style. Off it came - she feels great (and a lot lighter) and it's for a good cause.

How kind of her. Please give her a hug from us all for a kind deed.

I attempted to do the rufus thing for Windows 11, and all I got was "Ahhhhhhhhh sorry you cannot disassemble protocol due to security on here.." It is alright, I wonder if those geeks at the comp shop, added something of an extra coating on it too?

It has been a crazy summer for mowing lawns this year. I've mowed lawns for over 30 years and I don't recall a year as wet as 2025. The last few years we experienced drought conditions to the point that restricted lawn watering was instituted. Only lawns that were irrigated by wells were able to freely water their lawns. Half of my lawns were able to maintain a healthy lawn and the others suffered. This year I suppose was nature's make-up year with all of the rain. Instead of skipping some lawns for lack of growth, many needed mowed on a five day instead of a seven day schedule. A less than weekly schedule was impossible to maintain and the added expense to the customer would have been unacceptable. It made for a great deal more work than normal. I'm bragging and not complaining. Being as I'm retired from my cabinet building profession, I had all day every day to take care of the lawns. The lawn growth is clearly indicating that fall is around the corner. I hate to see it end this year.
I'm not very good at idle.

One of my silly putty but that is therapy for my hands creation last night at midnight.

I don't care if you are an individual; a family; a business or a transnational corporate conglomerate: BACK UP YOUR DATA! At least weekly! Have a backup AND have a current copy of the backup for redundancy!

I double-doggy promise you: you will never, ever regret having too many backups as much as you will regret having no backups when your priceless data disappears. And it will, someday.

Yeah, I do not like having it on google photos, it strips the photos away. And does not leave you a copy of them either. I am in the middle of pro-cloud vs. Anti-cloud.

I guess with over a billion people in the country, you have to be creative with naming your babies... but if I were the seller, I think I'd have to smack my parents around for giving me a name that wears out the keyboard just typing it...

During the shutdown, the people who should not be paid or live in danger of losing their job are the federal elected officials and appointees. Indeed, I would add that not only should they not be paid during the shutdown, but they should also forfeit all unpaid wages related to the period of the shutdown.

There were police cars parked in front of my house when I got up this morning. I thought oh hell, someone turned me in for jaywalking. :) They evidently had business at the house to my North. I don't know what went down. There didn't seem to be any particular emergency or concern with the officers running the call. There are only a few houses on my block that are still occupied by the owner. My poor addition is mostly rentals nowadays. The house next door is a good example. It is well maintained by a single mother with three grown children renting.. trying to survive.

I sort of been thinking of factory data reset again on my cell currently since over an app, but reached out to the company, did an extra long few emails etc, and their customer service paid off, they are now emailing me what I really need. I guess it can wait until I have problems, real problems.
