Sitting in a recycling center in Texas. Looking at mountain of aluminum cans, if you were to take all the cans to California you could possibly get between five and ten million.

The last time we went to the recycling place, I remember seeing five giant cubes of crushed soda and beer cans, thinking "Wow.. people.. do.. Drink their lives away.."

Today I've been tasked with meeting with the principal survivors of my recently deceased BIL. The agenda is to label what tools were ours and what were his so they can decide who gets what. When we retired, he and I each stored some of the tool of the trade. We had duplicate nail guns that we used all of the time but many were unique guns that we only had one of. We had multiple sanders, routers, drills, and the like, but also had unique electrical tools. The bottom line is, our company purchased most everything we used to earn a living. Many of the items would only be of use to a trim carpenter. Lots of the everyday sort of desirable tools I do not want and will never use again. It's not going to be fun sorting out the tools and it bothers me that it has to happen so quickly after my partner's passing.

I wonder if..
My old relic facebook pages will welcome me with open arms,
but they might have a different thought to catch up with all of them,
and friends request too.

I hope that either way the tools go to someone that respects what they are and cares about the craft they are meant for.

We managed to work our way though the little tools. There was enough family to have a need for most of the stuff. There's some high dollar unique tools that nobody has a need for. And to be honest, it would take some skilled hands to use. They are still available for the taking. I was able to grab a couple of tools that were my father's and a few other tools I hope I never have to use again. :) I hadn't realized the magnitude of the tool problem. My BIL spent his retirement time buying and repairing industrial grade woodworking tools. He has a garage full and half of our storage shed crammed full of huge machines. They have a value to collectors but that is a limited market. They need to find a new home. I'm talking huge band saws and a lathe the size of a buick sort of tools. It will be a nightmare to liquidate his collection.

Happy to be seen, guys. I've missed our time here on the forums. olbriar, you still around, huh! I should give you your flowers for holding down the fort.

Milo, do what you do best. Unforgiven, Mr. Admin. Hats off. I will be stopping by more frequently now that I have way more free time [so to speak].

That is good news. The forum stew could use a little Rush seasoning.

Good to see you not rushing through time and space :)

I look stoned as always.

Did I get on here yesterday? Probably not, went to town southbound to get a few things away form mom's mind, and we went out to eat, at an irish pub, they had some excellent chicken and onion rings, and later on that night we had left over pizza, my belly was so full, I barely slept a wink last night, probably four hours or so, went out this morning for my cousins coffee at a local coffee shop..

I went and take a nap about 11:30 a.m. this morning,
I feel better now..

I spent the day cleaning and reorganizing my shed. It turned bitter cold and then snowed and was cold the day after I met with the family and divided up the tools.
I just carried arm loads of tools to the shed and just found a spot to sit them down.
Today was pretty nice so It was time to put stuff up, toss stuff, and generally organize the stuff. It's been bugging me since the evening I piled the stuff in the shed.

I keep moving the household broom around because of the lockers inside the garage, the hose's nozzel for our shop vac does not want to squeeze right in, it is just laying there curly in a container that is shape of a box. One of these days my mother's boyfriend will have something of that nature for her, to have in her locker, but these things when they are not annouced towards one another, become faded, it has been so much long since my mother's open house, her remaining food she wants to save for her friend, but keeps just walking away from her friend, and some of the left overs need to be tossed away.

yeah.. This is why I do not say anything to her, I know I am a bad well semi bad person who does not know how to treat people sometimes when they are, not in front of me.
