Root Random Weirdness

Couple questions here......

1. Whenever I'm at professional sporting event (Baltimore Ravens season ticket holder :)) or even when I was at the Warped Tour yesterday, I have NO data what-so-ever. I could not send a text to save my life yesterday. This happened with my Evo LTE and my Galaxy Note2. My Evo went as far as changing the lock screen background and the time changed to 24 hours format and was an hour behind. Any idea whats happening and/or why? My daughter had the same issues on an SG3. My friends on VZW and ATT had no trouble at all.

2. Since the events of yesterday, my Evo (since flashing back to MeanBean from Carbon) says my PRL is 1. Is that right? I thought it was like 25001 or something.

well prl should not change from rom to rom. i can't check what my prl is at as 1. i'm on pacman which is aosp and 2. my screen is busted(gonna get a refurb soon)

as for your other issue that is weird. i never had any of those happen to me.....so i'm not sure.

do you have the latest radios?

Both phones are up to date. I did get the evo to update prl. I just cant figure why the evo changed time and stuff. I also don't understand the data interference. Any thoughts?

it happens to all 4 phones we have. If Im at a Ravens game, my wife and I both have no service. I flashed evo back to meanbean and I get a signal then lose it. I called sprint and they did the ##72768# and it got data back and 10 minutes later it was gone.

PRL was updated. Now its back to 0. Should I re-flash a firmware package?

something that has me wondering..... I had to get a relacement phone a few months ago. it had the new hboot. when getting s-off, i had to downgrade my firmware to 3.15. my phone now shows that im on 3.16. is there a chance that something updated that wasnt supposed to update? i thought you couldnt run aosp roms with 3.16? i have been on carbon since getting new phone and getting s-off.

can i downgrade back to 3.15?

3.15 is the last software version. You need to go under Settings / About / More and look at your "Baseband"

Or look on your hboot screen it's listed there. :)

The latest radio version is 1.12.11.1210

If you're on older firmware and you're s-off, it's just a matter of upgrading. Also the latest firmware package the good CaptainThrowback put together doesn't have the touchpanel bits included. This makes AOSP roms good on the latest firmware. :)

You can downgrade firmware if you're S-off now. ;)

As always any questions, just let us know!!

ive went up and down with firmware. nothing is any better or worse. i can get data for like 2 minutes. no cellular signal at all. my actual prl is all over the place. one time i look and it says 1 the next time it says 25012, the next time it says 45021. something is jacked.

I think I got it fixed. Dl'd MSL Reader. Got code. ##786#. Reset with code. All has been fine since. Id love to know what happened though.

Actually, I was wrong about the software version above, 3.16 is the latest. :o

I've never seen a PRL change on a device unless the update option was used, or a manual flash from recovery was used (on the OG evo). I'm stumped on this one.

If the thing keeps jumping around, I would load the stock ROM, and give Sprint tech support a call. Your phones may need reprovisioned, or maybe Network Vision is being worked on in that area.

Either way, if they need to try a data reprovision you're on the stock software, if it's the towers, they "should" have some info for you. :)

Not sure about the settings changes, but the inability to get a data connection or even send texts has been the norm any time I am in a football stadium. I assume it's because of the sheer volume of handsets in the area (gotta be 10,000-20,000 plus Sprint devices within a few hundred yards of each other.)
