I work in construction and everything about a home is designed around 4' X 8' goods... walls, ceilings, and floors etc. Just how does that work on the other side of the pond?

Meh, I can convert feet, pints and pounds into real units, and know approximately how long a mile is, but that's about it. For the rest you may as well be using cubits or whatever the ancient Greeks used.Yeah, particularly as this is a French car, and those crazy Euro types are obsessed with metric aren't they? We left the EU to preserve our imperial units dammit!
Actually a lot of our canned / bottled beverages are metric nowadays. We just read the ounce part. Wather bottle are now 16.9 OZ (500mL). Booze as @olbriar mentioned. My job I still do a lot of measuring in links, rods, hectares, etc.Ah... but when you are talking booze... we, as Americans, let the industry lie to us. A gallon contains less than 128 oz and and so on down through the typical half pint, pint, fifth, quart.. etc. We don't care.. we still buy our fifth of Jack and are happy. For what it's worth... a pint of booze in the US contains 12.7 oz... not 16 oz... 375 ml
But you drive your car and observe speed limits in miles-per-hour(MPH).
I like confusing them sometimes, when they're enquiring about my weight. 13 stone 3 pounds. And it's often a good subject for a culture lesson about the UK.
BTW ever tried to be clever and attempted buy something like curtain material specified in centimetres, it's still very much yards, feet and inches for that I'm sure in the UK. In Hong Kong supposed to be metric, I have a suit or shirt or something made. they measure me in feet and inches.
Aren't you the one who ordered the Pixel? You know what grinds my gears?
Google's supply chain management.
Horse races in the UK are measured in furlongs. One mile is 8 furlongs. How many other things use furlongs now?I learned how to read stones as weight. I liked Dick Francis mysteries which all revolved around horses and/or jockeys. Jockeys do go by weight and he wrote all weight in stones.
None. They closed all the tracks near Boston MA, The center of the universe...
The UK is a sore loser.
Could this new design possibly be any harder on the eyes? This is terrible.
... and would it kill anyone to design a website that did not depend on white?

I haven't looked at Tapatalk in years, I'm using Opera browser on my phone. The amount of white on the new site is blinding. It does seem to load slower as well.Is that why it's running so badly on Tapatalk?
This new forum is truly abysmal. Just downright awful.
