Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

I hate swipe actions for email entirely. I never know which way to go and oftentimes incorrectly do the 'reply' action which then gets stuck in drafts when I cancel that.

So I just use the Samsung email app which keeps the checkboxes that work fine. Why make everything goofy Gestures for?

No joke, to make your screen look all cloudy?!!??! :(

When you totally cannot recall your password, but you can access your clipboard via other app on, Samsung notes, and have to write it down, but no one will ever read your handwriting.. :P

How about using password managers and saving your passwords, only when you try to utilize the stored password it incorrectly labels it 'incorrect password?' That happened last night trying to use the CORRECT password via a password manager on my laptop to attempt to login to this site. It's the same password I ues for this WinXP machine, but the site doesn't agree with it. So now I can't use my laptop since I don't remember the actual password!

Another reason to NEVER use services like that. Makes people dumber. The hassle to reset and then re-gain compatibility for WinXP again is worse than just having to be in the one room with the WinXP machine to begin with. Just can't use Android Forums on the laptop anymore!

Of course, it would have been nice if the laptop could had just stayed logged in like I told it to (checked the 'stay logged in' box) since WinXP never logs me out, but nope, Microsoft Edge doesn't believe in forever logins.

Grammarly tends to add more words for each section I type up, it is a nasty habbit of doing things, even trying to scan all posts to correct them, add in ten million words almost overlasping of one another, it is just really messed up.. Vs. on my web page app, it does not bother with much at all, I just do not like it as much on the app.

I never use Grammarly, mainly because I'm an English teacher.

So I have been really tired for the past few days, acid reflux attack a few days ago, and having a bad nightmare ontop of that last evening, in a strange hotel room, but it was alright to be honest though. I accidently left behind my SSID money card behind with my state ID, but ... I can get around town with the older one I have to make it back into town for a newer one, and I have to make it there, but luckily the DMV and bank it is pretty close by within miles though, hopefully they can get around to do it to make do with it.

I am safe and sound in one piece, that is what really matters.

False advertising.

A few weeks ago I caught a commercial advertising gear that is promoting my favorite beer company. Among the items was an Igloo wannabe covered in the beer co. graphics. A nice looking unit of adequate size to suit my needs. I immediately check both of my local chain outlets that have the exclusive rights to the gear. The cooler is over priced but I liked it. Naturally it was already sold out. I have since checked all outlets in the four states surrounding mine to find they are all sold out. In the last three weeks the $199 price tag has fallen first to $149 and today it is $119. It's still not available and talking with a store rep they have no idea if or when it might be. I call BS.
I can buy the cooler on ebay for $600 plus shipping... not unless it comes with an endless supply of my brew. :)

Knowing a friend who lost her mother, and trying to keep it private..
I know what it is like losing someone, and know Ginny throughout the years too, so this is a tough battle for her, I know how she feels.
I still am holding the elope date over my head as well as hers, I just can't at all.

Pretty much what yesterday did bring up though, I can never whip lash at someone that is pretty close to me. Still searching for a wife in the longest run, I will pretty much hold secrets up in my memory banks too.

Playing connect four with my nine year old daughter . So yesterday we are playing and I have four different ways of potentially winning, (two were pretty obvious) those I wanted her to notice so I could win with either of the two :D then I noticed I had 5th way of winning :thumbsupdroid:. So I drop my disc thing into a slot feeling pretty confident I have her beat (she's beating me three games in a row) I look at her and asks if she wants to surrender to my awesome skills???;)
She looks at me and goes daddy you know I beat you again right?? She then points to two spaces where she can win with her next disc drop:mad:o_O:oops::maddroid::maddroid::thumbsdowndroid:

I once played connect four with a cousin at a family reunion. Everyone had gone to be but the two of us stayed up drinking and playing. The more we drank the better the game became. We were still up when the early risers got up. My gear grinding is all of those people are now gone. A fun night and a good memory but I'm the only one left to tell the tale.

So we play again tonight and again I tried to out smart my daughter with multiple attack patterns, what does little ms smarty-pants do??? She starts explaining how where she's going to be beat me based upon cheques already in play and where I will drop my cheques, a minute later I was down 0-3:mad::thumbsdowndroid:

Yah my Father always won at cards, mom had nothing no trainning of them, until much later on, she bested me a few times at Chicken Foot domino game, hahaa, she bested me a few times though :)

The company that blends the tobacco that I've smoked for decades has moved their operation overseas. The blend has changed and now it's a lousy smoke. I'm scrambling to find something new.

To a point of just happen in front of my eyes, customers shall not steal other peoples food, even though I put it up there, just to have it for the bag, and this idiot really was around oh in his sixties, the cliche look to him, and his wife, yada yada, both were just that cliche look. I was either in the shot to the moon of being in deep thoughts or inside the possessions of nothing. I am alright though, why would you steal someone elses lunch?

Welp, Straight Talk finally said 'time to move on' and somehow made it impossible for me to use SMS/Phone on my HTC Thunderbolt and Galaxy SII as of September. I am not sure if it's part of the whole network shutdown thing or because I swapped the SIM to play with some modern phones and it changed the provisioning, because even VoLTE phones like the ZTE Z Five C and the Majesty Pro, also fail to work properly. I can use data, and everything in status checks out, but can't send or receive SMS or make phone calls. Phone calls sit there dialing for a minute, and time out. SMS does the same, ending with 'message failed to send'. MMS still sorta works. They all show LTE and sometimes LTE/1x/3G and both my Verizon and AT&T based lines are affected. The oldest phone I can still use is the Galaxy S5, which is odd since the Majesty Pro is two years newer than the S5.

I loved my Thunderbolt, and my SII. How dare they! I thought the AMPS shutdown was bad enough (based on false information like AMPS phones causing brain cancer or some such crap which was debunked) but now I have to constantly live in fear any phone I grow accustomed to is gonna be screwed over. I hate using modern phones and now have to deal with the huge size, frustrating UI design decisions (mitigated somewhat by my old apps still working and themes) and odd behavior (YouTube Music quitting randomly for no reason, apps shutting down also for no reason randomly, external headphones randomly losing ability to control playback, Google Assistant not popping up when saying 'OK Google' and so on).

I like the A13 5G, but it will NEVER be a good enough replacement for my beloved Thunderbolt. And how long before I'm forced to upgrade from it assuming it grows on me one day?
