Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

I have pinpointed it to another location, I thought it was below my knee cause that is where it hurt the most, the pain is actually in my leg, twixt my knee and my hip.

Tomorrow morning, with some luck, I'm meeting with a good friend's son and his buddy to finish emptying the storage unit I ranted about a couple of weeks back. I have a two horse 220 motor, a horse 110 motor, three pallets, a drop cloth, an old dolly, and an old wood burning heater. The heater is collectable. It is a Phillips & Buttorff Mfg Co. Enterprise Automatic number 3. It was the heat source for the farm house my FIL grew up in. His father died when my wife was young, the farm was sold, and his wife moved to town. My FIL got the heater out of the old abandoned farm house about the time I married and eventually built an outbuilding and pressed the heater back into service. When he died, my wife insisted on keeping the heater and it's been in the storage unit since. I can't find the heater on the net but it sounds like it was built before 1900. It's cool looking and the old stoves and heaters from the manufacture are collectable. However, the thing weighs more than a SUV. I'm just happy as a lark that someone is willing to come and get the thing.
Ten in the morning we will attempt to load this heater.

I've been a Samsung messenger user since I hopped onto the Samsung line of devices. I knew it was coming and yesterday I was nudged to move on to a different app (Google's was the suggestion) before the Samsung app is no longer supported in July. I took the hint and changed apps. I had the Google app parked so it needed to update... okay. My S21 Ultra became hot. It has never been hot. WTF. I rebooted the phone and all seemed fine.
The messenger app seems to be running cool today.

week five.. since my ankle..on the bright side..finally left home yesterday to a library, i got a.movie..i might watch it tonight.. the sciattica is messy.

I went down to the cabin property to mow today. The cabin has a digital keypad that unlocks the door with the correct combination. Luckily, it also can be unlocked with a key. I finally gave up on the combination and hunted in my truck for that emergency key. After I got into the cabin I could get the key to the mower and get to my task. After I mowed I ran into town and bought a new battery for the lock. I took the lock apart and installed the new battery. The lock continued to give a wrong combo light. I took the lock apart one last time, checked the one connector to be certain it was connected, pulled and reinstalled the battery, and put the lock back together. This time the lock worked. I was nearing the "I give up" stage and was glad that something I did made it work. The combo lock on the door is nice. I have had many guests that come into town and spend the night at the cabin. I can give them the combo a lot easier than running down there and safer than hiding a key somewhere. (when the lock works) :)

I'm generally a pretty easy-going, laid-back kind of guy. And I used to work in tech, so I'm quite familiar with websites, from both a design and a functionality standpoint.

And OMG, the medicare system drives me insane.
And the Medicare website is the junkiest pile of crap there is. It has a Site Map, and believe me, it needs it. Boy does it need it. *

* The Site Map is really just an index of topics, so it's almost useful...

I can appreciate two step authentication, for some things, but ...
I hear ya. It was a requirement of staff years ago for a good reason. I honestly don't mind the two step here or other sites. I have it in place anywhere that money matters unless they have their own front end security such as a text or email reply code. When the two step auth fails it is white knuckle time. :)
