RC9 Update recieved 3am this morning in the UK

If I remember correctly, you need to decline the update the first time (before installing, unfortunately) and check adb logcat output. This also requires the SDK, so those combination of things usually ends up resulting in a day or two wait for someone ready to do it :)

umm... that sounds a bit complicated to me...
and seeing as I already accepted the update looks like I cant help :(

I dont know if it makes any difference but I got my handset literally a day after it came out in the UK, maybe my handset is different or perhaps they are showing me some loyalty seeing as I was one of the first owners lol

I was actually thinking the same thing! Lol

I was referring to daniels post about another individual. Other people just could be jumping on a band wagon tbh but who knows!

XDA....wait...what?

Hmmm...if its true that its a first come first serve type rollout....then maybe it will be a while before I get my update..

It may even be that its distance rollout...those closer to the main centre gets it first...
Of course...I have no idea where in the uk, t-mob are...so I can't prove that...

So I'm sticking with FCFS rollout....

Is there anywhere that tmobile have stated exactly what we were getting/supposed to be getting in the RC9 update? Ive tried to google but not seeing it...

They will prob post patch notes when the patch is completely distributed.

I have just spoken to tech support about the update and they have stated yes update has happen BUT only for a few thousand people in the UK (developers)...... well thats what they said. and until they can confirm the update is stable with their uk services it will not be released to the gen public. just to pass on a message, i have not idea if its crap or not

Im not a developer im part of the "general public" so either mine was an accident or theyre talking bull... someone else said on here in another thread that tmob sent it to 1000 random g1 owners and that they will fully send it out once theyre happy that it is stable... so we're still none the wiser lol

the one thing that seems to be true then is that a few lucky g1 owners have gotten the update. not to long then for the rest of us.

cannot wait until all the little bugs are sorted. i.e. i cannot delete trash etc

One question then, is RC9 stable?

the update was on mine when i got up at 5am. not much diffrence. you get notifications in the top bar when updates are availible for your apps.

So how would they (T-Mobile) be able to know if it's stable?

Record the number of complaints after the update?
Monitor the phone's usage and performance after the update?
Send out a survey asking for opinions on the new update?

i doubt they waiting, probley just doing it region by region. its nothing speacial. plus in the market last time i checked it was showing they was no paid apps on there yet.

Hmmm....

I see....

I still haven't received my update yet....

Maybe T-Mobile doesn't like me *sigh*
