Help re-enable stock email app??

I disabled the stock email app from the Application menu. It does not give the option to ENABLE like all other apps. The button where ENABLE usually is, is shaded out and shows DISABLED.

Anyone know how to enable?

This is just a wild guess, but did you disable something else that the stock email app needs. If so the email app may refuse to be re-enabled until the dependency is satisfied.

Are you sure it says disableD. Mine is shaded out and says Disable, meaning it can't be disabled. The apps that I have disabled say Enable

Under the Application Management list menu/All - it says "Disabled" next to it and places the app at the bottom of the list will all other disabled apps. It has also disappeared from my app draw. So, its disabled.

I dont think so. I will list all that show Disabled from my Application Management menu:
- AllShare Controller
- AllShare Play
- ChatOn
- Email
- Flipboard
- Google+
- Media Hub
- SNS (facebook)
- Yahoo! Finance
- Yahoo! News

Try clearing cache & defaults on any other sms apps then the stock

On the SMS apps? Even though my issue is with the stock email app?

Also, I cannot access any of the functions for the stock email app since its disabled. The clear cache options are all faded out.

Yea my bad, email app, lol

The other thing you can do, and root is required, ia to install Titanium Backup and defrost the app. ICS uses the same method to disable stuff as Titanium to freeze and I can enable an app frozen in TiB.

Go to Settings > Application Manager > All > Then hit the menu button on your phone and choose "Reset App Preferences". This will enable all of the currently disabled apps.

If you don't want certain apps to clog up your screens, you can just hide them

^^ sounds right!
goodnight peeps. try toast and smooth peanut butter with grated cheese... just trust me ok!

Do you actually have an email account setup under 'Settings' > 'Accounts' > anything with email active in there?

Off topic but out of interest, hoW do you disable email app? I don't use it and it always seems to be running so would like to disable it but the disable box is greyed out???
