Root [READ] Donate your phone? [For development]

Hey guys,
We all know that we have reached a dead end in ROM development for A70.
We have tweaked the stock ROM to it's full capabilities.
We're all hungry for CM now!
Micromax shitheads aren't providing kernel source!

I contacted a nice Optimus One (P500) dev, Arjen and asked for his help. (Sam knows him well).

Here's his reply:

Do you think it's possible someone can donate this phone?
If cm7 is almost fully working I can try to give you CM9 also 
Too bad sources are not available yet, because without some kernelchanges some cm9 things won't fully work.
With the phone I can try to build a working kernel with cm-kernel sources and perhaps with some reverse enginering get some drivers from your kernel so you can almost fully taste cm9

He's a nice guy and a better developer, but it gets pretty hard to port these ROMs without the device.

YES he is the best developer of P500 because he has almost every developer of LG -p500

so guys please donate phone for some days if you want a taste of CM7 OR BETTER ICS
 
wow if some has to donate a phone and then buy for himself, which cost like 12000 aprox, would he he buy a better phone for 10K,

it better to colloect money to one paypal acount, and update the status of money recvied.

like one of old post.

Guys, do you really think this is going to help ?

the price of A70 is Rs. 7500 ..

If you calculate,
Now even if say 20 ppl decide to donate , its approx , Rs. 375 /- Person .
I.e ~ $7.5 USD , this is too much !
More over,
Most of the ppl using the device are Small kids :p
I mean, not of apt. age for getting involved in any of the Money transfer activities ...
even if the Parents decide to donate the stuff , $7.5 may be much for donation for many specially in India :D

Ok lets consider, some one donates,
He does pay say $10(~ Rs.500 ) or may be more !
but what if at the end of the day , no one else donates ?
What if the amt. remains less than that needed ???
+ did you consider if A70 is available in Netherlands ?
Ok even if he manages to get it ... then Fret charges come in picture :p

This act was ok when other market prominent devices !
infact , for rooting Droid 4 the device was donated by community to a developer ( who successfully did the job ) !! { Just gave a example ... }
But ppl, let's be practical ...


A70 is a thing which is not prominent !
Donation if does not reach to a specific mark ... will be useless ( for A70 )
There are hardly few ppl who may seriously think of donation ...
look at the number of ppl who posted in this thread ... just mere 10 !
If you see the number in the longest thread of the device , none more than 25 are active now ... though many have been earlier ;)
Numbers speak up ...

why are you so much interested in a70 development?you even don't have A70 model,why you interrupt the development with you messages?

Just laid a view prospective that seems Practical to me ( not necessary everyone thinks the same way ! ;) ) Again, If you have suggestions, Plz do post :) they are always welcome ...

I am ready to shell out a max of Rs 500, but i will only do so, if others comply..
However, dont you think, even if we buy a phone and give it to the dev, can he guarentee that he will be able to do something significant without KS ?
I doubt it :/

arjen .is damn good developer and he said he will try to port a kernel to a70 using other similar devices sources ..
he already released two builds of CM7 but they are still not booting ....

If anyone knows someone who wants to sell A70 at cheap rate, it would be good.
We don't need any of the accessories, just the handset.
