Reading a separate SD card via USB

I am trying to use a USB SD CARD READER Choked down to a micro USB on my droid razr ics.
I want to download jpg's from a camera sd card.
No file apps recognize the sd card.
Am I attempting the impossible?

I'm not sure...can you download the pics from the camera to the computer, then transfer them to your Droid?

unfortunately that will not work as you are finding out. usb devices needs special drivers for most devices to work.

like mikey suggested, put the camera's sd card into the pc and transfer the pics that way then hook the phone up to the pc and transfer pics to it. if you have one of those EyeFi Cards, then it will automatically transfer the pics when it detects your network.

Yes, I can transfer through the pc. Just looking for an easier, neater way to do it. Thanks to both for the replies.

no worries, i wish it was that easy. check out the eyefi card. its pretty cool.
