Root Ready to Root

Hi All,
Downgraded to 2.2 on my Optimus M and am ready to really take control of my phone. From everything I have read so far simply running z4root.1.3.0.apk is all I need to do to root this phone. In order to not lose any of my files I have read to use "unrevoked". Is that a choice I'll be given when I run z4root? Any other suggestions and tips are greatly appreciated. I intend to take this slowly until I'm confident I have enough info to avoid a disaster.

If you are 100% sure that you are on 2.2 rooting should take you about 10 seconds and phone restart. No data will be lost.

Thank you for the reply. I just run the z4root app and that's it? After the phone restarts how will I know if it's rooted?
