'REAL' internal storage

For anybody that has or has messed with this Samsung device a little, I would really like to know the ACTUAL amount of internal storage that is available to the user and shown when viewed in the 'Settings->Storage' section.

As much as I am really satisfied with my VM HTC Evo V 4G (that only has a total 1.1 gigs available to me), I am already running of space for my apps (yes, I have put all the apps that I can on my SD card and NO, I don't want to root my phone).

Basically, I'm trying to decide between the 'Victory' and the 'GS II' on VM.

This may be a bit late, but as a side note, be aware you CANNOT (as far as I am aware, without some fiddling) move apps to the SD, as you can with your Evo. This 1.8GB internal space will fill much more quickly.

Edit: I had the Triumph before this, and while that phone only had ~1GB space for apps (if not for those pesky .log files) That space served me much better. Some apps will not work correctly because of the way samsung partitions the internal space.
