Root really crappy 3g & 4g speeds...update radios?

I always assumed latest was the greatest but this thread got me curious since I have a very poor 3G signal at work and the latest update (.0108) didn't seem to do anything. Today I changed radios to. 0530 out of curiosity and I am amazed how much better my signal is. Obviously one type isn't going to work for everyone but for anyone who doesn't have a great signal it is well worth the time to flash a new radio to see if it helps. Glad I did

I did the same and 530 was a lot better then what I had. Not sure if I was supposed to, but I flashed the WiMax too and that was a bit slower. For fun I did the 808 and I believe I might hold some record for the slowest speed and ping. Or close.
I will def. go back to 530. or whatever I had prior to doing anything.

Or wait for "network vision". If you want a good suggestion Tmobile is where a bunch of former VM users went. Tmobile hspa+ data is 10x faster or at least as fast as wimax. But the 30 dollar plan only has 100 minutes.

Use a VoIP solution like GrooveIP and your phone calls will use data instead of voice minutes, including incoming calls, but you need to use Google Voice (free) for that app. I'm testing it now on the $30 plan and it works fine over HSPA+.

There are other options for VoIP but I'm not sure if they support incoming calls or not. This one looks promising.
